Recently, The Song of Sway Lake called into the Behind The Lens Radio Show for a chat about his score and the title track, sung by John Grant, and “blending classical concerto with the jazz beats and instrumentation of the 30’s and 40’s.” Directed by brother Ari Gold, the film recently swept the Festival International Du Film Independant Awards in France, including Best Feature Film and Best Music! The Song of Sway Lake is playing at the historic Egyptian Theatre on Saturday in the Arpa International Film Festival. His latest collaboration with his film director brother Ari Gold, writing the score for The Song of Sway Lake – which stars Rory Culkin and Rober Sheehan – finds Ethan delivering both an original score and original songs inspired by the nostalgia and setting of the film, as well as the vocal jazz music of the ‘30s and ‘40s. – Jazziz
Composer Ethan Gold was tasked to create a score and songs authentic to the ’30s and ’40s era for The Song of Sway Lake.
