Throwback Thursday: Experience Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein’s Acclaimed ‘Spheres’ VR Score

No doubt, fans of Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein scores are counting down the hours before their Stranger Things Season 3 score releases worldwide digitally.  But, in case you weren’t aware of their other scores, here’s a film score to Spheres, the three-part VR experience executive produced by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel, and directed by Eliza McNitt!  It is yet another album you can experience as a standalone listening experience.  Kyle and Michael’s Spheres score received two HMMA Awards nominations for Best Score, Short Film.

Spheres is narrated by two-time Academy Award® Nominee Jessica Chastain, two-time EMMY® Nominee Millie Bobby Brown, and legendary music icon and poet, Patti Smith.

The album was original released in several formats for the audio aficionado: DTS Headphones x Binaural, Stereo, and in 5.1 Surround sound.  See listening links below.

‘Spheres’: Experience Darren Aronofsky & Eliza McNitt’s VR Film At Rockefeller Center, Score By Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein

If you’re in the New York City area this month, don’t miss Spheres, the groundbreaking three-part VR series Executive Produced by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel, and Directed by Eliza McNitt! ‘Spheres’ Song Premiere: Listen To ‘Auroras’ By Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein | Brooklyn Vegan

Dixon and Stein have created a spacey, ambient soundscape that makes the most of the VR format – Brooklyn Vegan

 

Listen to the debut track, “Auroras” by Stranger Things series composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein now at Brooklyn Vegan!  The track comes off Spheres, the Venice Film Festival Award-winning three-part virtual reality experience narrated by Jessica Chastain, Millie Bobby Brown and Patti Smith.  Executive produced by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel, and directed by Eliza McNitt, Spheres film made its debut last month at the Venice Film Festival.  Lakeshore Records will release the Spheres original soundtrack in DTS Headphones x Binaural, Stereo, and 5.1 Surround on September 28, 2018.
