Fresh off his Emmy® win, Composer Theodore Shapiro (“Severance”) releases his latest score on Lakeshore Records: The Good House—Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, available now digitally! Shapiro foregoes the minimal cool of his “Severance” score embracing much warmer orchestrations that reflect the interpersonal relationships within a picturesque New England town.
The Roadhouse Pictures film produced by Amblin Partners is directed by Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky and stars Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline. If hearing Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline’s names together sounds familiar, the two previously co-starred in the 1993 Academy Award-nominated film, Dave.

This week, some of film and TV’s most highly-anticipated soundtrack releases are finally here! From the “Stranger Things” Season 2 soundtrack (score by EMMY® Winners Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein), “The Walking Dead” (score by Bear McCreary) and Wonderstruck (score by Carter Burwell, to new vinyl releases, we’ve got the details below!
Lakeshore Records will release the Wonderstruck (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) digitally October 20 and on CD/LP later this year. Simultaneously, a second version of the album, containing three bonus tracks, is also being released as an Amazon Exclusive Special Edition. Both releases feature original music by Carter Burwell (Carol, Fargo).
“The script specifies that Rose’s segment of the film would be silent because her character is deaf, so music was going to play a large role,” said Burwell. “Because of the lack of dialogue and the lack of sound effects in Rose’s section, we presented it as a silent film, with wall-to-wall music. I don’t believe there’s ever a moment where we actually go completely silent. That was a new challenge for me.”
“Earns every inspiring moment. Stands out from other films of its kind.” – NPR
