Congratulations are in order for the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Award winners, which were announced on Sunday in Santa Monica, California!  Independent films and series picking up wins this year include Passing (Netflix), Pig (NEON), Shiva Baby (Utopia), and The Underground Railroad (Amazon Studios).  See the featured breakdown below.  Congratulations to all the winners this year in all categories!  View the full list of winners at Film Independent.

Indie Spirit Awards 2022: Pig, The Underground Railroad and Zola Among Nominees!

In just a few weeks, your favorite independent film will get their due recognition at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards !  Leading the pack is A24’s Zola, which received seven nominations including Best Feature and Best Director; Netflix’s Passing gets two nods for Best Supporting Actress (Ruth Negga) and Best Cinematography (Edu Grau); Pig (NEON)in which we see one of Nicolas Cage’s most subdued yet performances yet–received a Best First Screenplay nomination and the Someone To Watch Award for Michael Sarnoski; IFC Film’s Catch The Fair One pulls no punches with the Best Female Lead nomination  for writer/star Kali Reis; the deliciously chaotic Shiva Baby (Utopia) is in contention for the John Cassavetes Award (for best feature made for under $500,000); and Amazon’s The Underground Railroad received nominations for Best New Scripted Series and Best Female Performance in a Scripted Series (Thuso Mbedu).

Critics’ Choice Awards 2022: The Power of the Dog Rakes In 10 Noms Including Best Score + More

Lakeshore Records partners The Power of the Dog (Netflix) has earned 10 Critics’ Choice Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Jane Campion), and Best Score (Jonny Greenwood)!  The production is in good company with Dune (tied at 10 nominations), and Belfast and West Side Story, both tied at 11 nominations.  Also securing nominations are Being The Ricardos (4 nominations) and Pig (one nomination).  Who are you rooting for?  View the nomination breakdown below.

Hollywood Critics Association: The Power of the Dog Nabs Best Score Nom + More!

Congratulations go out to Jonny Greenwood who received a Best Score nomination for The Power of the Dog (Netflix) at this year’s Hollywood Critic’s Association Awards!  Jane Campion’s critically-acclaimed film received six nominations in all.  The soundtrack is released by Lakeshore Records, who also released Greenwood’s critically-aclaimed score to You Were Never Really Here (2018). 

Additional Lakeshore Records partner nominations this year include Being The Ricardos (Amazon Prime Video), Passing (Netflix), Pig (Neon), The Night House (Searchlight Pictures), Robin Robin (Aardman/Netflix), and Shiva Baby (Utopia).  View the breakdown below.
