Leonardo DiCaprio’s history as an environmental activist goes back before his 2014 appointment as UN Messenger of Peace, with a special emphasis on Climate Change. In 2007, DiCaprio produced The 11th Hour, a “first-rate documentary on ecology and the environment” (The Guardian) before his latest call to action in Before The Flood, which premiered to a global audience last month via National Geographic.
In both cases, like-minded acclaimed musicians Cocteau Twins, Sigur Rós, Lamb and composers Jean Pascal Beintus & Eric Avery on The 11th Hour, and Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Gustavo Santaolalla and Mogwai on Before The Flood, teamed up in solidarity to support the cause. The soundtracks are out now on Lakeshore Records, and you can preview them below.
