Vehlinggo Interviews Lakeshore Art Director John Bergin: The Man Behind the Things You Love

The milestone comes after a long career that has seen Bergin draw for the pages of Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and Heavy Metal. He’s released respected albums with his various bands, including Trust Obey. He’s designed vinyl album packages for the likes of the recent Drive fifth anniversary special edition vinyl and Mr. Robot, among hundreds more.

 

Vehlinggo recently interviewed Lakeshore Records Art Director John Bergin, who, besides being responsible for the album art on the most important soundtracks in recent history, this multi-disciplinary artist with a storied history in music just released his new EP, Crash & Burn.  Read the full interview at Vehlinggo.

For the first time, Lakeshore Records has made our composer interview with Gary Numan available on Spotify!  The electronic music pioneer sat down with Lakeshore back in 2014 to talk about his journey scoring John Bergin’s award-winning animated feature, From Inside (order DVD here)!  Released in October of that year, the interview is the perfect Halloween mood enhancer.

Vinyl : Gary Numan’s ‘From Inside’ Score Is A Post-Apocalypse Fever Dream Soundtrack On 2LP!

Music pioneer Gary Numan and music producer Ade Fenton immersed themselves musically into the dystopian world of From Inside, an award-winning animated feature film written and directed by John Bergin (Wednesday).  The album art is also designed by John Bergin, who paid homage to Gary Numan’s “Telekon” album (1980) and to his band Tubeway Army’s “That’s Too Bad” album (1978).  “The jacket is printed with spot colors; a special “double-shot” process. There is also a two-sided full-color insert with exclusive artwork and liner notes,” said John.  Read our original From Inside Vinyl announcement for more album art details.

‘From Inside’ Composer Gary Numan To Receive Q Innovation In Sound Award

Lakeshore Records congratulates From Inside composer Gary Numan, who will receive the coveted 2015 Q Innovation In Sound award, presented by Sony Xperia.  The prestigious award will be presented at the awards ceremony in London on Monday, October 19.  Gary joins other bands who were previously honored: Underworld, Mark Ronson, Sonic Youth, Massive Attack, Sigur Rós, The Prodigy, Muse and more.  Go to Q Magazine for details.
