Greyhound: Tom Hanks’ Epic Action Film Debut On Apple TV, Blake Neely Score Out Now

Everybody is talking about the new Tom Hanks movie, Greyhound, premiering on Apple TV+ Friday, July 10!  The epic action film also features an original score by three-time EMMY® Nominee Blake Neely (Visible: Out on Television, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow“, “You“, “Riverdale“), out now digitally on Lakeshore Records.  See soundtrack download links and more below.

The often tension-filled score uses orchestration to ominous effect as it evokes the events inspired by the Battle of the Atlantic which took place during World War II. The action-packed film starring and written by Tom Hanks makes its global debut to audiences in over 100 countries on July 10 exclusively on Apple TV+.

Lakeshore Records congratulates soundtrack partners Newtown on their Best Documentary win for this year’s Peabody Awards!  Lakeshore released the soundtrack last year, which features original music by composers including Fil Eisler, Mark Barden, Jeff Beal, George Clinton, Chris Drake, Deborah Lurie & Robert Duncan, Dino Meneghin, Blake Neely, Mark Renk, Mikael Sandgren, and Rob Simonsen.  The deeply personal documentary about the Sandy Hook school shooting tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut was filmed over three years and features never-before-heard testimonies to tell the story of the aftermath of the deadliest mass shooting of schoolchildren in American history.

Fil Eisler is one of the most diverse composers of the moment, with projects that range from big studio action pieces and comedies, to gripping dramas for independent film and hit television shows. For the “Newton” documentary, he served as the composer for the main title theme and acted as music director for the documentary, assembling an all-star line up of over a dozen Hollywood composers, who each donated a piece of music for the film.

Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack to Newtown, the Independent Lens documentary about the tragic shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in December 2012.  More about the film below.
