The Score Immerses Us In The World Of The Award-Winning Documentary
Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack to Cartel Land, featuring original score by H. Scott Salinas (The Square, The Newsroom) and Jackson Greenberg (Israel Inside: How A Small Nation Makes A Big Difference). Cartel Land is directed by Matthew Heineman (Escape Fire) and won Best Director (US Documentary) and Best Cinematography (US Documentary) at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. Executive Produced by Oscar®-winning Director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), Cartel Land opens in theaters on Friday, July 3 via The Orchard. More soundtrack details are forthcoming. Written by actor David Dastmalchian, Animals won the Special Jury Recognition for Courage in Storytelling at the SXSW Film Festival. Bobbie and Jude are a young couple living in their broken-down car parked alongside Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. Their days are a continuous ritual of theft and scoring until they must confront the difficult truth of their relationship after one of them is hospitalized.
