Congratulations go to Composer Jonny Greenwood on his Film Composer of the Year win at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards! The Radiohead guitarist previously received nominations for his scores to There Will Be Blood (2008), The Master (2013), and Phantom Thread (2018). This year, Film Composer of the Year contenders include Lakeshore Records partners Jonny Greenwood for his work on Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog and Pablo Larrain’s Spencer; Daniel Pemberton for his work on National Geographic’s documentary film The Rescue, Aaron Sorkin’s Amazon Original Being the Ricardos. For Television Composer of the Year, Theodore Shapiro scores a nomination for his work on Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller’s “Severance” (which is also now an EMMY®-nominated score)!
This year’s EMMY® nominations are in! Composers Theodore Shapiro (“Severance“) and Nainita Desai (14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible) secured music nominations! Nora Felder nabbed the Best Music Supervision nom for “Stranger Things” Season 4, Vol. 1. The Television Academy reported there was a sharp increase in EMMY® submissions this year in the drama and supporting categories, so we suspect the competition was fierce!
