ABOUT CARLY PARADIS

BAFTA and Royal Television Society nominated Carly Paradis (Canadian born) is a film and TV composer, songwriter and pianist, whose credits include sole composer of award winning and BAFTA nominated series Line of Duty for BBC (in its 6th series), Sky’s THE RISING (2022), Netflix Original supernatural drama ‘The Innocents’ (2018) which she won a Hollywood Music in Media Award for best song, Sick Note series 1 and 2 (Rupert Grint, Nick Frost, Don Johnson), PBS Masterpiece/ITV’s Prime Suspect:1973 (prequel to Prime Suspect) and first female-driven horror anthology XX which had its world premiere at Sundance 2017 (Magnet/XYZ Films).

She wrote the original score for Jed Mercurio’s feature length BBC adaption of Lady Chatterly’s Lover starring Richard Madden (Game of Thrones), and her music has been used in trailers for True Detective, Homeland, Martin Scorsese’s Hugo and more.

She has also toured live worldwide with Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Wrestler) and she played piano on Mansell’s soundtrack to the Bafta winning Moon (directed by Duncan Jones) which celebrated its 10-year anniversary July 2019 at Barbican London with Paradis on piano/live orchestra to film. She performed her music at the BBC PROMS 2019, Royal Albert Hall London, as part of a sci-fi soundtrack special with London Contemporary Orchestra. She releases her own music (including the albums Hearts To Symphony and Nothing is Something), resides in London (England) and is single-handedly responsible for a global avocado shortage.

Neve Kelly (Clara Rugaard) is dead. Understandably, she’s scared and confused by this new (non) existence, but moreover, when she realizes she has been murdered, she’s furious. Determined to find her killer and get justice, she takes advantage of her new supernatural abilities to go where the police can’t and investigate her own death. In doing so, she uncovers deeply buried secrets and is forced to re-examine everything about her life and the people she cared about.

The Rising, a Sky Original, now streaming on Sky Max and NOW.
