Hultquist takes an orchestral, synthwave composition and alters his track to a striking effect which seems to flow poignantly with the satirical horror film Sam Levinson directed. – Flaunt
Ian Hultquist’s memorable and innovative score for Sam Levinson’s battle cry Assassination Nation covers a lot of territory and there are moments when it sounds not like a score for a film set in Salem, Massachusetts, but SALEM. In other moments, there is the tempered crystalline beauty of Cliff Martinez. Other moments get a bit more pop-oriented. – Vehlinggo

Named on 2018’s year-end Best Soundtracks list, Ian Hultquist’s Assassination Nation score is pressed on “Raincoat Red” vinyl, with the entire soundtrack encompassing two records in a double wide album sleeve packaging! The collectible album also features the track, “Rage” by Isabella “Machine” Summers, “Brat” by ABRA and “We Can’t Stop” by Jackson State University Marching Band, The “Sonic Boom” of The South.
