Adapted from a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, Director Brad Anderson (The Machinist, The Call) takes us to 1899 England at Stonehearst Asylum: a recent medical school grad (Jim Sturgess) takes a position at a mental institution soon finds himself taken with one of his colleagues (Kate Beckinsale) — though he has no initial idea of a recent, horrifying staffing change.  Co-stars: Ben Kingsley, Michael Caine and Brendan Gleeson.
